Associate Organisms
The Organisms in charge of carrying out the technical support
to the Project are the Municipality, the Indigenous Office
of Issues of Easter Island, CONADI and The Forest National
Corporation, CONAF, Office Provincial Easter Island.
The Municipality in the execution of its functions develops
diverse activities related with the environment, among they
highlight them the handling and disposition of the insular
population's solid residuals, it has also negotiated diverse
initiatives in the environment of the afforestation and
recovery of insular flora, like they are the germination
of 5000 nuts of coconut trees in 2001, establishment of
a nursery and propagation of species forest Polynesians,
urban afforestations and I project compostaje pilot at the
moment in execution.
On the other hand CONADI Easter Island
it develops diverse programs with professionals and consultant
companies specially hired for the support activities to
the indigenous productive development, among those that
highlight those from Development to the watering and agricultural
development, having technicians of wide experience in handling
of cultivations and native flora. In the last years they
has carried out shops for farmers on the control and handling
of plagues, organic agriculture, fertilization and compost.

The Forest National Corporation, CONAF for more than ten
years they comes developing a program of recovery of native
flora, occupying an outstanding place the efforts for reintroducing
the Toromiro (Sophora Toromiro), extinct species in the
natural environment from 1956. It has also participated
as organism associated of Native Flora project Recovery
of Easter Island, executed by the Corporation Kahu Kahu
O Hera with the financing of the PPS - GEF - UNDP (1997-1998).
CONAF Also exercises the administration of the Rapa Nui
National Park, for what its approval is fundamental for
the development of activities in sectors included in the
limits of the National Park.
